So, my gaming PC has been kind of slow lately. I went to defrag it using Diskeeper. It wasn't installed. So installed it and analyzed my hard drive. It was pretty much all red. I hadn't done a defrag since I reinstalled Windows about 6 months ago. So I'm defragging it now. Im not sure why I posted this. But make sure your hard drive is defragged every once in awhile. Smile

I think defraging is like changing the oil in your vehicle. This is what happens when you don't:

I agree that defragging is like changing oil.

That engine is nasty! I would never let my engine get that messy. Atleast not if i cared about the car at all.

Vista automatically defrags your computer once a week...

My only concern with this practice.... Is my hdd going to crap out sooner rather than later?

Unless you modify the automated system service. I always have to tell mine to run at a different time beacuse I never know when I'm going to use it. The only time I'm certain is Sunday at 5am beacuse I'm for sure going to be in bed.
