Hi all,

I'm sharing this information on behalf of Intel:

Intel will be demoing The Saboteur (currently unreleased) and The Sims 3 and giving away hundreds of prizes, including nearly a dozen Core i7 processors and two gaming system, for its Game On contest at Fry’s Electronics in Wilsonville. To participate, shoppers can visit the Intel kiosk at the Wilsonville Fry’s on Nov. 21 - 22 from noon to 5 p.m. to receive a game card. The card can then be scanned at the kiosk to redeem one of the hundreds of prizes. For complete event details, visit http://bit.ly/1mDCm8.

You can also follow news from the event live on Twitter: www.twitter.com/intelgameon .

Feel free to post any questions and I'll be here to answer them!

Thanks,
Ben

Sounds like fun. I'm going to try and stop by. Are there going to be computers set up to test out the games?

Ben, you a gamer at all?

Thanks for the reply - I hope you get the chance to visit us during the weekend! We are planning to have six machines running The Saboteur and The Sims 3 (three machines running each game).

As for my gaming experience... I was introduced to the competitive gaming scene back in the 90's with Quake (Thresh is still one of my favorite gamers of all time). From there I found Counterstrike and traveled with my clan to many CPL championships in Dallas and other LANs across the country. In college I discovered World of Warcraft and spent most of my mornings/days/nights with an end-game raiding guild on Kel'Thuzad (High Caliber ftw!). Nowadays I'm usually playing an EA sports title on my Xbox360 (anyone up for a game of Madden 10 or NCAA football?). So in short: Yes, I am a gamer.

If we don't get the chance to connect at the Fry's event, I would love to come down for a Keizer LAN sometime. What games are you playing atm?

Also, thanks for the heads up on the PDXLAN forums. There is a 2 day waiting period after you register to post, so I'm awaiting clearance Smile

Right now, I've been playing a bunch of different games.

At LANs, Valve games are always popular. TF2, L4D, etc. Call Of Duty 4/WAW are also played a lot. At the recent PDXLAN, a lot of people were playing Borderlands. I have yet to play it. But it looks awesome.

The current and popular games change all the time so its hard to say what games will be played at a particular LAN, unless the host(s) designate the games. GamingNW is really good at laying out what games will be played.

Thanks for posting here Ben! I will enjoy all the pens, shirts, hats, and the i7 975 processor when it gets here! I was winner #7 out of 10. Very Happy

It only took me about 15-20 game cards to win. The Intel Game On people were like 'He's back again!" They were really excited when I won.

Yep. In the box on top of my other computer. Wink

I would like an ASUS Rampage II Gene motherboard for its final home. It will be awhile before I can get one though. Thankfully, a buddy of mine has given me some DDR3 memory. So I do not need to buy that just yet. I just need a motherboard and a new power supply. Then it will have a new home.
